Here in the US of A it’s pretty much a given that 9/10 cars that you peek into are going to be an automatic. However, some models have seemingly escaped that statistic. I personally have only ever seen a couple of PRNDL-equipped VW Cabrios. What are some other cars that seem to be predominately stick?

Anything with Quebec plates, for some reason.

Toyobaru. When I bought my BRZ, I had trouble even finding one with a stick in the trim/color I wanted.

You’ve just answered the opposite of my question.

Mini Coopers. Aside from the Countryman and some of the newer models, the vast majority that I see have manuals.

Miata is always the answer.

The Miata? Only 20% are automatic

Civic Si. Although admittedly that's kind of cheating

Or his point was the manuals were bought up so quickly they were scarce.

Miatafanboy nailed it. All of the manuels were scooped up.

Forget mostly. 100% of the Elise/Exige twins are manual in the USofA.

That was my answer

You and I definitely think the same.

The Wrangler is still surprisingly mostly manual.

Yes. in .0001% of the cars produced*
*I made this up (but it’s prolly close to the truth)

Haha, it was called Autostick I think. It was like a three speed manual w/o a clutch.

Indeed. I drove a Type 3 with that setup once. Also, my sister had a paraplegic friend years back that daily’d a 912 Targa with a 4-speed autostick. It was, inexplicably, a thing.

The dude was a boss. It amazes me how he would transfer into the driver’s seat and then fold his chair and stuff it into a the “back seat” behind him. The door jam and part of the rear panel were scratched up from him doing this and I thought those were the coolest most honorable scratches on any car ever :)
